Joseph Vincent Barbara Jr. Here-say she had breakdown and spent remainer of her life in nursing home. Teresa was abt 28 when married. No papers on the son's birth found as of 2009. 1880 cenus shows Sr. on farm with a son age ten. Jos Sr married again 1881 two months short of ten years of his first marriage to Teresa Stone. No records of his second marriage to Stella Gallo, either. 2nd marr to Stella Gallo, who also had been married before. They had eight children. Jos. Sr. had a stroke in 1905 which led to his death in 1910. He had aquired a large amount of land which was divided by his children from second marriage. Jos. Jr. had taken his inheritance before Sr.'s death in the amount of 4,000 dollars.. Joseph Jr. and Lena, Angelina Bartolomea Picone, his wife and 6kids bought the 40 aceras in St Rose , St. Charles, LA., in 1919. The same year that their twin son Vincent died in Jan. 1919. Teresa Stone the first wife died three months later , both deaths from the flu. I found Teresa Stone's death in 1919 where she had spent the larger part of her life. in the Home for the Aged on Annuniciation St, New Orleans, La. She was 82. Barbara, Jr was the only child of Joseph V. Barbara, Sr. and Teresa Stone. He was born/ raised by his father from birth till grown then married to Lena Bartolomea Picone. Teresa was preported to have had a breakdown of sorts and very young. Hear say was wrong as Teresa Stone was 8 years older then Joseph V. Barbara, Sr. He was in his twenties and she was thirty plus years of age. Reason for her entering a nursing home in unknown till this day, 2009. I would suspect that she may have had crone's or a simalar disease. She entered a nursing home on her own, run by the Litttle Sisters of the poor. In her later years she was in Old People's Home on Calilope St. She died in the influenze period three months after her grandson Vincent Barbara, twin to Felix Barbara; father to "Shirley Barbara Nichols", died in Feb 1919. Teresa also died and was buried in May 1919 of the flu. She was buried by the charity hospital at St Roch but no records exsit from that time. Teresa Stone was 82 years old. Joseph V. Barbara , Jr. farmed with his father on the west bank until he married Lena Picone in 1893. I found Joseph , Jr. and Angelina, Lena', Picone, and all the children living on the West Bank in Westwego, on the 1910 Fed. census. They were living next to Angelina's sisters, married to three Giardinas. The youngest son John was 1 year old. The twins were ten. More then likely Jos. Jr. had recieved his inheritance and moved to Westwego to get away from Jos. Sr's second marriage to Stella Gallo and family as there may have been conflick as they got older. I was told Jos. Jr and family lived in 7 Oaks plantation house for a time. What year, don't know. I have found Jos. Jr and family on 1920 cecsus still in Westwego. One year after the death of the twin Vincent. 1: Teresa Stone, I have marr. cert & lic. There were 3 marr banns in Orleans Par. I found no info on Teresa after marr and birth of a son. 1880 cenus he was residing in Jeff. Parish, La. and listed as married. Joseph Vincent Barbara Jr. Here-say she had breakdown and spent remainer of her life in nursing home. Teresa was abt 28 when married. No papers on the son's birth found as of 2009. 1880 cenus shows Sr. on farm with a son age ten. Jos Sr married again 1881 two months short of ten years of his first marriage to Teresa Stone. No records of his second marriage to Stella Gallo, either. 2nd marr to Stella Gallo, who also had been married before. They had eight children. Jos. Sr. had a stroke in 1905 which led to his death in 1910. He had aquired a large amount of land which was divided by his children from second marriage. Jos. Jr. had taken his inheritance before Sr.'s death in the amount of 4,000 dollars.. Joseph Jr. and Lena, Angelina Bartolomea Picone, his wife and 6kids bought the 40 aceras in St Rose , St. Charles, LA., in 1919. The same year that their twin son Vincent died in Jan. 1919.
Teresa Stone the first wife died three months later , both deaths from the flu. I found Teresa Stone's death in 1919 where she had spent the larger part of her life. in the Home for the Aged on Annuniciation St, New Orleans, La. She was 82. I found Teresa Stone Barbara's death in 1919, N.O.,La. on micro film. Died of flu in 1919. She was 82 at death . Teresa was more then 8 years older then Joseph Barbara Sr. Hear-say was incorrect about her age and condition of her childbirth experience.

Notes for JOSEPH V. BARBARA, JR.: Joseph V. Barbara, Jr was the only child of Joseph V. Barbara, Sr. and Teresa Stone. He was born/ raised by his father from birth till grown then married to Lena Bartolomea Picone. Teresa was preported to have had a breakdown of sorts and very young. Hear say was wrong as Teresa Stone was 8 years older then Joseph V. Barbara, Sr. He was in his twenties and she was thirty plus years of age. Reason for her entering a nursing home in unknown till this day, 2009. I would suspect that she may have had crone's or a simalar disease. She entered a nursing home on her own, run by the Litttle Sisters of the poor. In her later years she was in Old People's Home on Calilope St. She died in the influenze period three months after her grandson Vincent Barbara, twin to Felix Barbara; father to "Shirley Barbara Nichols", died in Feb 1919. Teresa also died and was buried in May 1919 of the flu. She was buried by the charity hospital at St Roch but no records exsit from that time. Teresa Stone was 82 years old. Joseph V. Barbara , Jr. farmed with his father on the west bank until he married Lena Picone in 1893. I found Joseph , Jr. and Angelina, Lena', Picone, and all the children living on the West Bank in Westwego, on the 1910 Fed. census. They were living next to Angelina's sisters, married to three Giardinas.
The youngest son John was 1 year old. The twins were ten. More then likely Jos. Jr. had recieved his inheritance and moved to Westwego to get away from Jos. Sr's second marriage to Stella Gallo and family as there may have been conflick as they got older. I was told Jos. Jr and family lived in 7 Oaks plantation house for a time. What year, don't know. I have found Jos. Jr and family on 1920 cecsus still in Westwego. One year after the death of the twin Vincent. The farm in St Rose, St Charles Parish was bought in same year the twin Vincent died age 19. but they did not move to St Charles untill 1920. The death cert. says time of his death he resided at 'No name Highway'. Which was the Public Road, the now "River Road'. LA 18
His grandmother Teresa Stone died just 3 momths after Vincent, the twin. Death cert. says she was 82, Likely she too died from the flu. Death cert. is very hard to read. Burial place is given as Home for aged. Vincent was buried in St Mary's Italian Cem. on Plum St. then transfered to Lake Lawn Mos., about 1973, and is buried with his sister Teresa H. Barbara, his father and mother, Lena Angelina Picone, his mother; and Jos. V. Barbara, his father and grandfather to Shirley Barbara Nichols. Shirley lives in Gonzales, LA, age 76 in good health as of 2009.

Don't know why she would have been sent on or was just missed when entering port. Likely she was overlooked at port. Angelina was first buried in St Mary's Italian Cem.on Carrolton Ave., and later moved along with her husband Joseph Barbara, and the twin son age 19, Vincent who were also moved to Lake Lawn Mous, Met. La.
